- Partners include MetaMask, WalletConnect, Phantom, and Backpack
- Aims to protect Web3 users from real-time scam threats
SEAL Forms Web3 Phishing Defense Network
The fight against crypto scams just took a major leap forward. The Security Alliance (SEAL) has officially launched a global real-time phishing defense network, teaming up with top Web3 wallets including MetaMask, WalletConnect, Backpack, and Phantom.
This new phishing defense network aims to create a shared system for detecting, reporting, and neutralizing scam URLs before they reach users. In the fast-paced world of Web3, phishing attacks remain one of the most dangerous threats, often resulting in users unknowingly connecting to malicious dApps and losing their digital assets.
With this joint initiative, SEAL and its partners are building an industry-standard security layer that protects wallets in real-time, across platforms and chains.
How the Phishing Defense Network Works
The phishing defense network is built to respond instantly. Whenever a suspicious or confirmed phishing site is detected by one of the partner platforms, it is flagged and shared across the alliance in real-time.
For example, if MetaMask detects a phishing link, the same threat alert can instantly protect Backpack or Phantom users. This collaborative system closes the gap that scammers often exploit—moving from one platform to another before being blacklisted.
Users can also report suspicious sites directly through their wallets, contributing to a growing crowdsourced threat database. Over time, this will create a strong barrier against even the most sophisticated phishing campaigns targeting crypto users.
A United Front to Secure Web3
SEAL’s partners aren’t small names—they’re some of the most widely used wallets in the crypto ecosystem. By uniting through a phishing defense network, they are setting a precedent for how security should work in decentralized finance and Web3.
This effort signals a maturing crypto industry, where major players understand that protecting users is a shared responsibility. As phishing scams become more advanced, real-time cooperation between wallet providers could be the key to keeping the ecosystem safe.
For users, this means more peace of mind when navigating Web3 dApps, marketplaces, and DeFi platforms.
