Ripple & Securitize Bring Real-World Assets to RLUSD
Ripple and Securitize enable instant treasury redemptions with RLUSD for BlackRock and VanEck token holders.

- Ripple and Securitize launched a smart contract for RLUSD redemptions
- Token holders of BUIDL and VBILL can now directly redeem for RLUSD
- This move bridges real-world assets with Ripple’s blockchain ecosystem
Ripple, in collaboration with tokenization platform Securitize, has launched a new smart contract that brings real-world asset utility to Ripple USD (RLUSD). This smart contract allows holders of tokenized U.S. treasuries—specifically BlackRock’s BUIDL and VanEck’s VBILL—to redeem their holdings directly for RLUSD.
This is a significant step for blockchain-based finance. By offering seamless redemption of tokenized assets into a stable digital currency, Ripple is advancing the use of real-world assets (RWAs) on-chain. The Ripple RLUSD smart contract is designed to ensure speed, transparency, and regulatory alignment, opening new doors for institutional and retail adoption.
What This Means for RLUSD and XRP
RLUSD, Ripple’s native stablecoin designed for enterprise-grade use, now has a stronger utility with this new integration. By enabling direct conversion from RWAs, Ripple is making RLUSD a key liquidity bridge between traditional finance and decentralized ecosystems.
While XRP remains Ripple’s native token for fast, low-cost transfers, RLUSD adds another layer to its ecosystem, especially for enterprises and financial institutions looking to tokenize or settle real-world assets. The ability to directly interact with tokenized treasury products such as BUIDL and VBILL without needing to exit the blockchain ecosystem simplifies asset management and increases appeal.
Growing Momentum for Real-World Asset Tokenization
Tokenization of real-world assets is gaining traction across the crypto and traditional finance sectors. Ripple and Securitize are leading the way by showing how these innovations can offer real benefits—faster settlement, lower costs, and programmable finance options.
This smart contract integration is a clear signal that Ripple is not just focused on remittances and payments anymore—it’s actively building infrastructure for the tokenized economy of the future.
