MOEX to Launch BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and TRX Futures

Moscow Exchange will launch perpetual futures linked to BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and TRX indices on Sept. 22 for qualified investors.

  • MOEX will launch perpetual futures linked to BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and TRX indices on September 22.
  • The contracts will be USD-quoted and ruble-settled, with no delivery of underlying crypto.
  • MOEX says crypto-linked futures volume has surpassed RUB 600 billion since its first products launched.

Moscow Exchange (MOEX), Russia’s largest stock exchange, is preparing to launch perpetual futures linked to five major cryptocurrency indices on September 22.

The new MOEX crypto futures will track indices tied to Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP and TRON (TRX). The products will only be available to qualified investors.

Unlike direct cryptocurrency trading, investors will not receive or hold the underlying digital assets through these contracts.

MOEX Crypto Futures Will Settle in Rubles

The perpetual futures will be quoted in U.S. dollars but settled in Russian rubles, allowing eligible investors to gain exposure to crypto price movements without taking custody of cryptocurrencies.

This structure gives investors access to crypto-linked derivatives through a traditional exchange environment. The lack of physical delivery also means the contracts function as financial instruments tied to crypto indices rather than direct purchases of BTC, ETH or other tokens.

The September launch will expand the range of cryptocurrency-linked products available through MOEX.

Crypto Trading Volume Tops RUB 600 Billion

MOEX said more than 72,000 qualified investors have traded its crypto-linked futures since the exchange introduced its first products last summer.

Cumulative trading volume has now exceeded RUB 600 billion, indicating significant activity in the exchange’s growing crypto derivatives market.

The addition of perpetual contracts linked to five major cryptocurrencies represents another expansion of that offering. Following the September 22 launch, investors will be watching trading activity across the new BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and TRX products.
