Crypto ETP Applications Set to Hit 200 in 2025

Crypto ETP applications are expected to reach 200 in 2025, with Solana, Bitcoin, and XRP leading the charge.

  • 155 crypto ETP applications currently exist, tracking 35 assets.
  • Solana, Bitcoin, and XRP each have 20+ ETP applications.
  • Total number of ETPs is projected to hit 200 in the next year.

The world of digital asset investment is expanding rapidly, with Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs) at the forefront. According to Eric Balchunas, Senior ETF Analyst at Bloomberg, the number of crypto ETP applications currently stands at 155. These ETPs track 35 different digital assets, highlighting the growing demand from investors seeking regulated exposure to cryptocurrencies.

Crypto ETPs have become a preferred choice for both institutional and retail investors, offering a simplified way to gain access to digital assets without the need to manage private keys or deal with unregulated exchanges.

Top Assets Leading the ETP Race

Among the 155 active applications, Solana, Bitcoin, and XRP stand out, each with more than 20 ETPs linked to them. Ethereum follows closely, with a significant number of ETPs as well. Additionally, “Basket” ETPs — which include multiple assets in a single product — have also crossed the 10-application mark, showing interest in diversified crypto exposure.

This surge in applications suggests a growing level of confidence in the long-term viability and regulation of these digital assets. With Solana’s increasing developer activity, Bitcoin’s institutional adoption, and XRP’s regulatory clarity, it’s no surprise they are among the top choices for ETP issuers.

200 ETPs Expected by 2025

Balchunas predicts that this number will grow significantly, potentially hitting 200 ETP applications within the next 12 months. The rising numbers reflect a maturing crypto market and a shift toward more structured financial products.

As regulatory frameworks evolve and investor appetite continues to grow, crypto ETPs are likely to play a critical role in mainstream adoption. With traditional financial institutions entering the crypto space, the race for more ETP offerings is only just beginning.
