Chinese Institutions Target ETH and SOL
In a noteworthy shift, Chinese institutions are developing micro-strategies centered around Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL), according to crypto entrepreneur Du Jun. This move suggests a growing institutional interest in altcoins beyond Bitcoin, focusing on assets with real utility and active ecosystems.
ETH and SOL are not random picks. Ethereum is the backbone of DeFi and NFTs, while Solana has gained ground with its fast transactions and lower fees. By targeting these two blockchains, Chinese institutions are betting on foundational infrastructure in the crypto space.
Programmatic Buying Gains Traction
Du Jun notes that “programmatic bids are building,” indicating a rise in automated or algorithmic buying strategies. This is often a sign of institutional players entering with caution and sophistication. Programmatic buying helps maintain price stability, minimize slippage, and gradually accumulate assets without alerting the market.
Such strategies are common in traditional finance but are now becoming more prominent in crypto, especially among East Asian firms exploring digital asset portfolios post-China’s 2021 crackdown.
