- Offerings include custody, settlement, and tokenization
- Ex-RBC risk analyst Yoyee Wang to lead BBU
Bybit, one of the world’s leading crypto exchanges, is taking a significant step into institutional territory with the launch of Bybit BBU, its new business-to-business division. This move positions the platform to offer tailored crypto solutions to enterprise and institutional clients.
With a focus on addressing the needs of large-scale crypto users, BBU introduces services like third-party settlement, off-exchange custody, and tokenized financial products, tapping into growing demand from professional investors and corporates looking for secure and compliant digital asset infrastructure.
Advanced Services for Institutional Clients
BBU’s offering goes beyond the traditional crypto exchange model. Key services include:
- Third-party settlement: Helps clients mitigate counterparty risk while enabling seamless trade settlements.
- Off-exchange custody: Designed to keep assets secure and reduce on-platform exposure.
- RWA collateral programs: Enables real-world assets (RWA) to be used as collateral in crypto transactions, enhancing liquidity options.
- Dual issuance of tokenized products: BBU will offer parallel issuance of tokenized versions of traditional assets, bridging the gap between traditional finance and crypto.
- Digital Treasury Asset (DTA) solutions: Enterprises can now manage digital assets as part of their treasury operations, using blockchain infrastructure for improved efficiency.
These services aim to attract hedge funds, banks, trading firms, and fintech enterprises that require advanced digital asset management tools.
Led by an Industry Veteran
Heading the new division is Yoyee Wang, a former risk analyst and portfolio manager at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). Wang brings a wealth of experience in institutional finance and risk management, which will be crucial as BBU caters to high-end clients with complex needs.
Bybit’s decision to bring in someone with such credentials underlines its commitment to institutional-grade offerings, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation—key concerns for enterprise users in the evolving crypto space.
